The Nsukka Chamber of Commerce, Mines, and Agriculture (NCCIMA) has taken a significant step in driving economic
transformation in the region with the announcement of its upcoming Nsukka Economic Development and Investment Forum (NEDIF).
As part of the build-up to the much-anticipated summit, a high-powered delegation from NCCIMA, led by its President, Barr. Sam Chigozie Otoboeze, paid an advocacy visit to Udenu Chairman, Aka Eze Aka at his office in Obollo Afor. Flanking the Mayor during the visit were his Deputy, Hon. Mrs. Onyinye Odoh, and the Secretary to the Local Government, Rt. Hon. Chika Aroh. The visit was aimed at engaging key stakeholders in the economic revitalization of Nsukka and soliciting their support for the forum, which is scheduled to take place on April 23, 2025.
With the theme “Rethinking the Nsukka Economic Development Strategies,” the summit is envisioned as a game-changer for the economic landscape of Nsukka. It aims to encourage indigenous entrepreneurs, investors, and stakeholders to channel their resources into their homeland, making Nsukka a cornerstone of Enugu State’s economy.
The event will feature a distinguished lineup of speakers and panelists. Prof. Osita Ogbu, a renowned Economist and former Chief Economic Adviser to the President, will chair the occasion. The keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Nnaemeka Ngwu, a prominent figure from the prestigious Lagos Building, known for his expertise in business growth and economic strategies.
The summit will also have Rt. Rev. Prof. Godfrey Onah, the Catholic Bishop of Nsukka, serving as the Spiritual Father of the Day. Additionally, Most Rev. Alloysius Agbo, the Bishop of Nsukka Anglican Communion, will play a crucial role in moderating the panel discussions.
Panelists for the event include Prof. Rose Onah, a respected academic and administrator, Kelvin Ugwuoke, a leading development advocate, and Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, the Deputy Governor of Enugu State. The NCCIMA delegation also included Chief Marcel Ezeagu (Ochinanwata), the Second Vice President of the Chamber, and Mr. Uchenna Nnadi, the Director-General of NCCIMA, both of whom reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring the success of the forum.
