The National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) recently conducted a site visit to assess the state of agro-business in Nigeria, with a focus on boosting exports and addressing security challenges. Speaking on Channels Television, Barr. Sam Otoboeze emphasized the urgent need to develop Nigeria’s agricultural sector through innovative policies, investment in modern farming techniques, and support for local entrepreneurs. He highlighted the association’s commitment to making Nigeria a globally competitive exporter by enhancing product quality, streamlining supply chains, and fostering international partnerships. Additionally, he addressed the pressing issue of insecurity, stating that tackling banditry and farmer-herder conflicts is crucial to achieving sustainable agricultural growth. Otoboeze called for a collaborative effort between the government, private sector, and security agencies to create a safer business environment, ensuring Nigeria’s agricultural sector thrives on both local and international fronts.
